About the Role


Samee Metal Trading is seeking a motivated, commercially-minded professional to join our team. This is a high-impact role designed for an individual with a solid foundation in the steel industry who is ready to transition into the fast-paced world of Industrial Sales and Procurement. Working directly with our Senior Leadership team, you will support day-to-day operations while mastering the commercial and technical fundamentals of the business.



Key Responsibilities


Sales Strategy Execution


  • Support execution of sales strategies aligned with company objectives and market conditions.
  • Contribute to revenue growth through proactive account management and business development activities.



Business Development & Account Growth


  • Drive proactive selling through prospecting, cold calling, networking, cross-selling, contract growth, and opportunity conversion.
  • Develop new customer relationships while expanding existing accounts across assigned markets.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within manufacturers, service centers, fabricators, distributors, and end-users.


Steel Trading & Market Analysis


  • Analyze sales activity, customer trends, market conditions, and pipeline data to identify growth opportunities and risks.
  • Monitor steel pricing, supply availability, competitor activity, and industry trends.
  • Support buying and selling decisions through market intelligence and commercial analysis.


Relationship Management


  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and industry partners.
  • Partner with fellow traders and Sales Leadership to strengthen account coverage and sales execution.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining a commercial mindset.


Margin & Commercial Management


  • Balance customer service expectations with pricing strategy, profitability targets, and margin discipline.
  • Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing, and support commercial agreements.
  • Ensure opportunities are evaluated with a focus on profitable growth.


Operations & Supply Chain Collaboration


  • Collaborate with Operations, Logistics, and Supply Chain teams to ensure reliable fulfillment, inventory optimization, and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate customer requirements and delivery expectations to support successful order execution.


Culture & Accountability


  • Participate in a culture of ownership, accountability, continuous improvement, and teamwork.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales reporting, and pipeline management activities.


Technical & Product Support


  • Act as a liaison between customers, suppliers, mills, processors, and internal teams to ensure steel products meet customer specifications and quality requirements.
  • Review product requirements, grades, dimensions, tolerances, and Mill Test Reports (MTRs) to support accurate quoting and order fulfillment.
  • Ensure sourced materials align with customer needs, industry standards, and available market supply.


Vendor Management & Sourcing


  • Source steel products from mills, processors, service centers, and suppliers to support customer requirements and profitable sales opportunities.
  • Review supplier pricing, lead times, availability, and quality to support competitive quoting and margin discipline.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure reliable supply, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction.


Education, Skills & Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Commerce, Marketing, or a related field is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in B2B sales, industrial sales, steel sales, logistics sales, freight sales, or a related commercial role.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated, competitive, and driven to achieve results.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and solve problems.
  • Proficient in Google Workspace and CRM systems.
  • Knowledge of steel products, metals distribution, manufacturing, logistics, or industrial markets.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for customer visits.


Compensation & Benefits
