Under the direction of the Manager, Logistics, you will assist with Purchasing, Customer Service, and U-Haul Field entities with information on distribution, transportation
and logistics related projects. Assist with shipping and freight concerns. Expedite and track shipments; perform cost comparison. Maintain department standards execute daily
operations and functions of the U-haul freight department.
Duties:
  • Reasonable and predictable attendance is essential
  • Logistical support and customer service for field personnel in the U-Haul System and U-Haul vendors
  • Operational interaction with carriers on behalf of U-Haul (shipment rating, scheduling, tracking, etc.)
  • Carrier freight claim filing and resolution on behalf of U-Haul
  • Special projects as directed
  • Identify and present opportunities of improvement, increased efficiencies, and /or cost benefit for U-Haul

Skills/Knowledge:
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows programs and the internet and have the ability to learn and use proprietary U-Haul computer programs. Excellent verbal and written communication
skills are required. Must have a good interpersonal, customer service, and telephone skills, Mathematical aptitude, schedule, logic and reasoning, cost studies, and basic accounting concepts are required.
Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize, problem solve, plan, and organize. Attention to detail is essential. Must have a working knowledge of the various modes in the transportation industry
(small package, LTL, truckload, rail, ocean, expedited, etc.). Must be proficient in spreadsheet analysis.
Education/Training Requirements:
In process of completing College degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or other business related field, or equivalent work experience.

Physical Demands:
Typically, the person may sit comfortably t do the work. There may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts; driving automobile.
