Job Title: Freight & Logistics Administrator

Location (City, State): Dallas, TX

Work Schedule: Onsite with flexibility for occasional hybrid flexibility once per week after training, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM โ€“ 5:00 PM

Type of Employment: Direct Hire

Compensation: $21.00 โ€“ $23.00 / Per Hour

Job Description:

Addison Group is partnering with our client to hire a Freight & Logistics Administrator. This role supports daily shipping operations, ensures accurate freight processing, and serves as a key point of contact for field teams navigating transportation and logistics challenges. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in shipping, strong system knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and maintain the companyโ€™s Transportation Management System, ensuring data accuracy and system functionality
  • Act as a resource for field teams by resolving shipment-related concerns, including carrier performance and routing issues
  • Assist with troubleshooting logistics challenges, offering guidance on system usage, freight movement, and billing discrepancies
  • Track and manage freight invoices within the system to avoid delays and ensure timely approvals
  • Review and submit invoices for payment, including proper coding and allocation for accounting purposes
  • Provide training and ongoing support to internal teams on shipping procedures and transportation tools
  • Generate and share reports on system activity, freight spend, and performance metrics for leadership
  • Handle freight claims, working with internal teams and external partners to ensure proper resolution
  • Collaborate with IT and operations teams to ensure shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading, is complete and compliantโ€”especially for regulated or hazardous materials
  • Advise on proper documentation and procedures for shipments handled via company-owned vehicles


Qualifications:

  • Background in transportation, logistics, or shipping operations required
  • Hands-on experience working within a Transportation Management System (TMS)
  • Prior experience in a logistics, fleet, or transportation support role
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent organizational abilities with a focus on managing deadlines and priorities
  • Familiarity with carriers and third-party logistics providers (3PL) is a plus
  • Experience with full truckload (FTL), less-than-truckload (LTL), and parcel shipping preferred
  • Working knowledge of shipping documentation such as Bills of Lading and freight invoices
  • Exposure to freight claims processes is advantageous
