Job Description
The Advanced Material Handler (Source 1) is responsible for operating order pickers and standard forklifts to support shipping, receiving, and production activities. This position involves accurately picking, moving, and organizing materials, including heavy and oversized items, while working at elevated heights within a warehouse or dock environment. This role requires maintaining efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to company procedures in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
  • Operate order pickers, standard forklifts, and pallet jacks to accurately pick, transport, and stage materials
  • Efficiently load, unload, and sort palletized and non-palletized freight
  • Use handheld scanning devices to track inventory and shipments
  • Secure freight inside trailers using proper tools and techniques
  • Handle heavy materials, including coils, equipment, and large components
  • Work in a safe and efficient manner while adhering to company policies
  • Maintain productivity and accuracy while working at heights

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1+ years of experience operating forklifts or material handling equipment in a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment preferred
  • Experience in shipping, receiving, and/or production material movement preferred
  • Experience handling heavy materials (e.g., coils, dies, large equipment) strongly preferred
  • Basic computer skills, including experience with handheld scanners or inventory systems
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions, safety rules, and shipping documents
  • Comfortable working at heights while using fall protection equipment
  • Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment and adapt to varying temperatures
  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials and perform physical tasks as required
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to company safety policies
