Job description

Your work days are brighter here.

We're obsessed with making hard work pay off, for our people, our customers, and the world around us. As a Fortune 500 company and a leading AI platform for managing people, money, and agents, we're shaping the future of work so teams can reach their potential and focus on what matters most. The minute you join, you'll feel it. Not just in the products we build, but in how we show up for each other. Our culture is rooted in integrity, empathy, and shared enthusiasm. We're in this together, tackling big challenges with bold ideas and genuine care. We look for curious minds and courageous collaborators who bring sun-drenched optimism and drive. Whether you're building smarter solutions, supporting customers, or creating a space where everyone belongs, you'll do meaningful work with Workmates who've got your back. In return, we'll give you the trust to take risks, the tools to grow, the skills to develop and the support of a company invested in you for the long haul. So, if you want to inspire a brighter work day for everyone, including yourself, you've found a match in Workday, and we hope to be a match for you too.

About the Team

Our mission is to change the way business deals get done. In an industry plagued by inefficient and ineffective contract management systems, we provide a solution that accelerates, scales, and protects the business, enabling contract professionals to become their company's superhero.
We create innovative AI technology that makes contracts searchable and simplifies deal-making processes to supercharge business while helping to reduce costs and handle risk. We automate manual work, facilitate collaboration, and streamline operations so businesses can make better decisions.
By reimagining legal documents, we take the stress out of contract management, empowering brilliant people to do their best work while fueling exponential growth.

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and innovative SDET to join our dynamic QE team and help drive the success of our cutting-edge product, which is poised to transform how organizations manage and process legal data. Our automation is built in TypeScript. While experience with TypeScript is a big plus, what matters most is strong programming ability. If you can own the full testing lifecycle, write sophisticated test code independently, and demonstrate a true quality engineering mindset, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do:

  • Collaborate closely with our agile, cross-functional engineering team to build a robust, enterprise-grade SaaS contract management platform.

  • Drive the quality assurance process by implementing comprehensive automated functional, regression and performance testing, ensuring our platform consistently meets the highest quality standards.

  • Enhance platform scalability by implementing effective performance and load testing strategies.

  • Partner with software developers and product managers to define features and establish criteria for verifying correct implementation, fostering a quality-first mindset throughout the development cycle.

  • Leverage your expertise in test automation to design, develop, and maintain efficient test automation frameworks that support continuous delivery and integration.

  • Actively mentor P2 and P3 SDETs, conducting high-level code reviews and fostering a culture of technical excellence.

About You

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in quality engineering, including 5+ years focused on test automation.

  • 5+ years of experience developing and maintaining automated test suites using modern automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar tools in production environments.

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience in Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python, including application of software design principles and patterns.

  • 5+ years of experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable test automation frameworks that improve test coverage, reliability, or engineering efficiency.

  • 5+ years of experience testing REST APIs, including developing automated API tests and identifying defects or quality risks before release.

  • 5+ years of experience working with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins to support automated build, test, and deployment workflows.

Other / Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with cloud environments, microservices, and containerized applications.

  • Familiarity with AI-assisted testing tools, intelligent test automation, or other advanced quality-engineering techniques.

  • Strong understanding of performance and security testing principles, including approaches to identifying scalability, reliability, and application-security risks.

Our Approach to Flexible Work

With Flex Work, we're combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.

Pursuant to applicable Fair Chance law, Workday will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.

Workday is an Equal Opportunity Employer including individuals with disabilities and protected veterans.

At Workday, we are committed to providing an accessible and inclusive hiring experience where all candidates can fully demonstrate their skills. If you require assistance or an accommodation at any point, please email accommodations@workday.com.

Are you being referred to one of our roles? If so, ask your connection at Workday about our Employee Referral process!
