Summary

As a part of the Final Cut Camera engineering team, your contributions will help drive the adoption of Apple hardware and software for a broad range of customers. The capture of high quality video is the critical first step to for anyone looking to communicate, inspire, and entertain others using video, including students, filmmakers, journalists, and influencers.

Description

We are looking for a skilled and motivated software engineer to join a diverse team to push the capabilities of video capture on iPhone forward. Design and implement features that enable the capture of studio quality content, while being accessible to users of all skill levels and backgrounds. Create pathways to make media quickly and seamlessly available for editing in Final Cut Pro. Work to take advantage of the latest camera features in iPhone and other apple devices.

The ideal candidate will have experience and/or an interest in video and media content production, as well as the craft of video and/or still image recording. A background in the design and implementation of efficient and intuitive iOS applications using Swift is also critical for this role.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4+ years of professional experience developing applications in Swift and/or Objective-C.

  • Strong knowledge of Apple’s development tools and frameworks, including SwiftUI, UIKit, AVFoundation.

  • Demonstrated experience building user-facing applications on iOS, iPadOS, and/or macOS with products shipped/shipping in the AppStore.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability work collaboratively and cross functionally with others.

  • Experience leveraging frameworks, libraries, and tools for the capture, rendering, playback, and streaming of video media.

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with content creation and media editing applications.

  • Knowledge of best practices and techniques for recording high quality video and still imagery.

  • Experience in the design and implementation of device discovery/connectivity and video streaming using wireless and wired networks.

  • Ability to provide examples of application and/or libraries development for iOS and/or macOS
