Job description

Who We Are:
Our singular mission is to help people feel better naturally. We believe that when people feel better, they're freer to do what moves them. We're committed to continuous innovation and surround ourselves with specialists, thought leaders, and experts - inside and outside of the office.
We're dedicated to leading the tech wellness industry, and that starts with our employees. If you thrive in creative environments, are concerned with big, innovative ideas, love to collaborate, have an entrepreneurial spirit, and are driven to succeed, get in touch with us. Together we can push the limits of what can be achieved for everybody.
About the Role
We're looking for a freelance Mobile UX Designer to help us create intuitive, engaging experiences in the Therabody consumer app. You'll work hands-on designing features that sit at the intersection of our physical and digital products-onboarding, device pairing, guided routines, progress tracking, and personalization. This is a collaborative, execution-focused role where you'll partner with our product, engineering, data science, and brand teams to ship app experiences that drive engagement and help users integrate recovery into their everyday lives.
What You'll Do
  • Concept and design mobile app experiences across the Therabody app, including onboarding, device pairing, guided routines, progress tracking, and personalization features.
  • Create key UX deliverables-user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs-optimized for iOS and Android.
  • Translate product requirements and user insights into clean, functional designs grounded in mobile UX best practices.
  • Collaborate with the product and data teams to understand user behavior, identify friction points, and design improvements that support engagement and retention goals.
  • Work within Therabody's brand guidelines and mobile design system to ensure visual consistency across the app experience.
  • Partner with mobile engineers to hand off designs cleanly and QA implementations, accounting for platform-specific behaviors and constraints.
  • Build and deliver design variants for A/B tests and experiments aimed at improving key app metrics.
  • Participate in user research, usability testing, and journey mapping to validate design directions and iterate based on findings.

About You
  • Candidates with an established LLC or registered business entity are strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of UX/UI design experience with a strong focus on native mobile apps (iOS and/or Android)-experience with connected hardware or health and wellness apps is a plus.
  • A portfolio that shows well-crafted mobile app work: onboarding flows, feature design, navigation patterns, and other core app experiences.
  • You have a passion for the health and wellness industry and want to use technology to impact lives for the better.
  • Proficiency in Figma with experience working within established design systems and component libraries; hands-on experience with AI-powered design tools (e.g., Figma AI, Galileo, Relume, or similar) to accelerate concepting and iteration.Strong understanding of iOS Human Interface Guidelines and Android Material Design principles.
  • Experience with user research and usability testing, including quick-turn methods to validate ideas.
  • Familiarity with mobile-specific interaction patterns, gesture-based navigation, accessibility considerations, and performance constraints.
  • Experience designing for connected device ecosystems (Bluetooth pairing, device controls, real-time data visualization) is a strong plus.
  • Collaborative and adaptable-you take feedback well, communicate clearly, and can move quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills-you can walk stakeholders through your design rationale and trade-offs.
