Job Description

Title: Power Utilities | Transmission & Distribution

Location: Rosemead CA

Duration: 6+ Months

Experience Need: Min 10+ yrs.

Rate: $80-85/hr on c2c (or) $70-75/hr on W2

Job Description:

Must Have Skills:
1. Should have strong understanding of Electricity utilities system landscape in the transmission and distribution area, Smart grid concepts and system involved in Smart grid implementation
2. Extensive work experience in the area of System Planning, Grid Operations and Work Management
3. Should have excellent softskills and leadership skills to lead assessment workshops, and interact at CXO level

Nice to have skills:

1. Experience of at least 1 or 2 end consulting assignment to define the IT strategy and road map in the smart grid area
2. GIS work experience
Detailed Job Description:
Lead Consultant for Power Utility - Transmission & Distribution domain
As a Principal Consultant, will provide best-fit solutions for one of the project/program in utility-transmission and distribution domain; provide technology/product fitment consultation; assist in defining scope and sizing of work; anchor Proof of Concept and solution design. You will work together with client in defining and baseline the solution in the smart grid area. Help client in defining the business requirements and system requirements.

The typical responsibilities will include, but not limited to, the following:
Should be able to lead solution design in the grid modernization area primarily in the area of System Planning, Grid Operations and Work Management
Should be able to work with client in defining the business requirements and solution approach
Should be able to develop functional design documents from the Functional specification documents for projects in smart grid area
Should be able to create point of view (PoV) as system integrator for the grid modernization
Should be able to design the forms, workflows, portals and integrations with the required systems
Should be able to create system requirement specification in consultation with client and project team
The candidate must be a team player and is also expected to help the project team
Location for this position is Rosemead, California. This position will require travel as needed.
Qualifications Basic
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required. Electrical Engineering or Power Systems background preferred
At least 10+ years of experience with listed responsibilities and skill sets

Must have skill:

Preferred Skill:
Understanding of utility market and technology trends
GIS work experience
Working experience in one of the transformational program in the transmission and distribution area
Electrical Engineering/Power Systems background
Experience in utilities in North America
