Job Description

The Business Technology Analyst supports the function and enhancement of street lighting applications and databases with the goal of high data integrity and usability. This role manages the continued deployment of Smart Street Light Control devices and tracks street light usage and performance data; supports the technology system(s) across related organization to help maximize effective business processes and solutions. This role provides technology support and solutions for users and collects and analyzes information from system users and may propose process improvement and technology solutions. The Business Technology Analyst works closely with IT and functional area to ensure systems designed, configured and implemented consistent with business requirements.

As a PSE employee you will uphold the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE's operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities and promotes and supports a culture of total safety. You will demonstrate commitment to conduct business honestly, ethically and consistent with our core values and Code of Conduct and ensure duties are performed in accordance with all regulatory compliance obligations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Operates, schedules, monitors, tests, services and maintains system tools and processes.
    • Maintains system accuracy and integrity by managing attributes data flow and data definitions. Reconciles data moving across systems, applications and databases.
    • Performs technical problem troubleshooting and resolution.
    • Monitors, triages, troubleshoots and resolves incidents/issues, and escalates where necessary.
    • Coordinates with IT staff and/or vendors to resolve problems and to evaluate, test and implement new releases, patches, hot fixes, etc.
    • Prepares and maintains technical documentation and provides training to guide system users.
    • Assists with management of vendor support agreements.
  • Participates in and may lead projects to improve/enhance/implement system solutions to business processes.
    • Supports technological solutions and may propose process improvements.
    • Collects, documents, translates, reviews and analyzes information from system users to identify business needs, challenges and opportunities.
    • Creates/updates business requirements and works with IT staff to design/enhance programs that support the solutions.
    • Collaborates with IT staff to design and implement system improvements including configuration, enhancement, automation and integration with relevant systems.
    • Ensures quality and consistency of methodology, analysis and documentation.
    • Works to develop and coordinate appropriate testing requirements including user acceptance.
  • Provides reporting, audit responses, benchmarking and/or KPI (Key Performance Indicators).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, business or related field, or equivalent combination of eduation and/or related experience.
  • 5 years related experience, specifically with business processes and systems.
  • Knowledge of business requirements management, diagramming, use case develoment (UML - unified modeling language).
  • Knowledge of process design, re-engineering and requirements documentation methodologies.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated attention to details, problem solving, organizational and analytical skills.
Desired Qualifications
  • Project management experience specifically related to IT systems.
  • Experience in requirements management, diagramming use case development (UML).
  • Experience in process design, re-engineering, and requirements documentation methodologies.
  • Knowledge of JAD techniques and ability to facilitate JAD (Joint Application Design) sessions.
  • Knowledge of SAP module particular to business unit (SAP-ISU, ECC, CRM, etc.)
  • Utility industry experience.

The pay range for this position is$80,200.00-$115,800.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
