Role Description

The Director of Quality& Safety Assurance is responsible for administering and overseeing all qualityassurance, quality control and environmental health and safety activitiesrelated to aircraft completions, maintenance, and modification operations inaccordance with 14 CFR Part 145 repair station requirements and the AS9100Quality Management System applicable to fabrication and Supplemental TypeCertificate (STC) projects.

This role serves as theprimary liaison with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and maintainsfinal authority on the methods and procedures used by the repair station toensure compliance with all applicable regulations, manufacturer specifications,and approved technical data. The position ensures that all facility operationsand personnel comply with corporate policies as well as federal, state, andindustry regulatory requirements.

Additionally, this role isresponsible for developing and managing safety initiatives and programsdesigned to prevent workplace injuries, strengthen the organization's safetyculture, and improve operational processes to create a safe and compliant workingenvironment.

Essential Job Functions

        Ensure theaccuracy and integrity of records in accordance with FAR 145.219 throughinternal system audits and compliance reviews.

        Develop, measure,and evaluate the effectiveness of corporate quality policies and procedures,recommending improvements that increase operational efficiency whilemaintaining regulatory compliance.

        Maintain currentrecords of applicable aviation regulations, specifications, type certificatedata sheets, and airworthiness directives relevant to repair stationoperations.

        Ensure that alltechnical data used for articles maintained or altered by the repair stationare properly controlled and maintained with the latest revisions. This includesrepair station process specifications, manufacturer maintenance manuals,service bulletins, part specifications, FAA airworthiness directives, and otherapproved technical data.

        Maintain andoversee the AS9100 Quality Management System, including audits and continuousimprovement initiatives to maintain certification.

        Develop andmaintain a comprehensive Safety Management System (SMS) in accordance withregulatory and industry best practices for Part 145 repair stations.

        Coordinate withthe FAA Certificate Holding District Office (CHDO) and other FAA officesregarding Quality Assurance matters and regulatory compliance.

        Identifyoperational hazards and develop risk mitigation strategies based on auditresults, incident reports, and safety analyses.

        Revise andmaintain repair station documentation including the Repair Station Manual(RSM), Quality Control Manual (QCM), Capabilities List, and Personnel Roster asrequired.

        Ensure thatpreliminary, hidden damage, in-process, and final inspections are properlyconducted and documented in accordance with the RSM and QCM.

        Compile, analyze,and interpret accidents, incidents, and exposure data to develop correctiveactions that eliminate or reduce operational risks.

        Maintain atechnical publications library relevant to repair station operations and ensureaccessibility of current technical information to maintenance personnel.

        Maintain companymaintenance policies, inspection procedures, and overhaul guidance required byFAA regulations to support maintenance and repair operations.

        Establishlong-term safety performance targets, accident prevention strategies, andcost-control initiatives related to safety management.

        Perform otherrelated duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications,Education and Experience

        Bachelor's degreein aviation maintenance, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalentcombination of education and experience.

        MBA or master'sdegree in quality management is preferred.

        Minimum 10 yearsof experience in, aircraft maintenance, or aircraft completions, includingleadership experience in quality assurance, inspections, repairs, andregulatory compliance.

        Strong knowledgeof Part 145 repair station operations and regulatory requirements.

        Advancedunderstanding of AS9100 Quality Management Systems.

        Advancedunderstanding of the FAA  and EASAmandated Safety Management System

        Demonstratedexperience governing technical data and documentation across engineering andproduction environments.

        Experienceimplementing enterprise-wide quality and compliance programs acrossmanufacturing or aviation maintenance operations.

        Certification inrisk management, safety management, or occupational health and safety ispreferred.

        FAA Airframe& Powerplant (A&P) License preferred.

Work Environment

This position is based inan aircraft hangar environment and may involve:

        Exposure tovarying temperatures and weather conditions

        Loud noise levels

        Use of heavymachinery and specialized tools

        Potential contactwith chemicals or hazardous materials

        Working inconfined aircraft interior spaces
