West Monroe is hiring for a Senior Consultant to help our growing Consumer and Industrial Products industry team under the Mergers & Acquisitions Practice. The Senior Consultant will have two main responsibilities: (1) Providing a holistic, data driven view of a retail / consumer / industrial business to identify revenue growth and cost management opportunities and technology & process-driven solutions to enable them and (2) the ability to work collaboratively with internal/external teams to deliver on identified value opportunities.
Client Delivery:
  • As a Senior Consultant within our C&IP Practice, you will be expected to provide delivery on client engagements, manage relationships with client leadership and deliver compelling offerings that are relevant and thought-provoking while creating significant shareholder value.
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate analysis, synthesize complex information, and support data-driven recommendations for clients, exercising sound judgment in evaluating outputs.
  • Apply AI technologies (e.g., generative AI, automation tools, data models) to enhance insights, improve delivery efficiency, and elevate the quality of client outcomes.

Client Development:
  • This role includes responsibility of managing the client relationship at the executive levels while executing work with project teams. Most importantly, candidates should be passionate about what they do and enjoy a fun, entrepreneurial environment.

Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree, with preference for statistics or analytics related fields preferred (Economics, Finance, Applied Math & Statistics, Data Science, Engineering)
  • Experience integrating AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) into day-to-day workflows to enhance productivity and insight generation, coupledwith strong critical thinking to assess accuracy, mitigate bias, and ensure high-quality outputs.
  • Ability to analyze data through a hypothesis driven approach to generate insights that inform conclusions and support decision-making
  • Demonstrated experience using critical thinking skills to develop novel frameworks to solve unstructured problems
  • Ability to synthesize insights from multiple sources of information, including broader stakeholder views, to develop concise material for an executive level audience
  • Fundamental understanding of key financial statements and strong overall business acumen
  • Demonstrated ability to manage own workstream and deliver timely execution of project deliverables against tight timelines without sacrificing quality
  • High proficiency in Excel required
  • Moderate to significant experience with relevant analytical tools and/or coding languages preferred (e.g., Alteryx, SQL, R, Python)
  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills; with an in-depth knowledge of project planning and delivery methodologies
  • Strong communication skills to be able to work with clients at all levels of the organization - from the shop floor to the board room
  • Ability to travel up to 75%

Industry Knowledge:
  • Functional knowledge of retail, consumer, and/or industrial value chain - particularly in one or more of the following sectors: Specialty Retail, Grocery, Consumer Packaged Goods, Chemicals, Specialty Materials, Durable Goods, Food & Beverage, Automotive/Transportation, Industrial Products and Equipment
  • Experience with mid-market retail, consumer, or industrial businesses ($500M - $5B in Revenue)
  • Functional knowledge of one or several of the following:
  • Specialty retail and/or grocery operations - including but not limited to the following areas: consumer behavior and marketing, merchandise planning and analysis, retail planning & retail operations, data analytics teams
  • Consumer packaged goods - including but not limited to the following areas: revenue growth management, trade promotion management, planning/forecasting, sales & operations planning, supply chain, warehouse and distribution
  • Discreet manufacturing and/or process manufacturing operations - including but not limited to the following functions: planning/forecasting, supply management, procurement, sales and operations planning, engineering, production scheduling, maintenance, production controls, quality control, inventory management, supply chain, warehouse and distribution
  • Ability to identify and quantify business cases impacting the P&L and/or balance sheet for manufacturing or supply chain use cases
  • Must have been an active team member on at least 3 operational and/or performance transformation programs for manufacturing or retail clients
  • Demonstrated functional knowledge of lean manufacturing and process design methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Toyota Production System); possession of a certification a plus

Based on pay transparency guidelines, the salary range for this role can vary based on your proximity to one of our West Monroe offices (see table below). Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity.
Employees (and their families) are covered by medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees will also receive unlimited flexible time off and ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Eligibility for ten weeks of paid parental leave will also be available upon hire date.
