The IT department is currently seeking a developer to analyze, design, code, test and deploy software programs and applications. This includes researching, designing, documenting, and modifying software specifications throughout the production lifecycle. The software developer will also analyze and amend software errors.
To ensure active engagement in meetings, it is mandatory for all IT associates to have cameras turned on for all interactions with other associates, customers, and stakeholders. Your camera must be on and positioned correctly to clearly show your face. This practice is crucial for maintaining connection and engagement, as non-verbal cues are essential for effective communication.
Work location and flexibility are subject to change based on evolving business needs, but generally, selected candidates who reside:
  • within 50 miles of Headquarters may be expected to work in a hybrid capacity, combining remote and onsite work when business needs necessitate.
  • more than 50 miles from Headquarters must be flexible and available to travel to Fairfield, OH, on an occasional basis for special events, training sessions, or key meetings.

Be ready to:
  • understand and apply industry practices, architectural standards and department policies and procedures relating to work assignments
  • proactively suggest improvement to systems and procedures
  • develop integration solutions with 3rd party vendors
  • design and drive enterprise projects

  • 5+ years of Java development experience
  • creating new data model elements and extending the existing applications data model with new properties
  • knowledge of secure software development
  • must be highly competent in these technology areas: Java, JavaScript, and SQL
  • experience developing both REST and SOAP web services using XML and JSON
  • ability to work with XML, creating schemas, parsing with XPATH and XSLT
  • experience with Spring and other standard frameworks
  • comfortable using source code repositories such as GitHub
  • knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Angular is preferred
  • familiar with databases, such as DB2/Oracle, or SQL Server
  • ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
  • knowledge of file handling and manipulation tools and techniques
  • ability to navigate various server technologies such as JBOSS on Linux
  • knowledge of insurance and claims
  • strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
  • ability to provide application support, including responding to support after business hours
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills and teamwork skills with the proven ability to multi-task

  • experience at Agile/Scrum project implementation
