An enterprise consumer brand is seeking a Senior Experiential 3D / Spatial Designer to support the development of a creative toolkit for an upcoming retail pop-up environment.

This is a highly collaborative, client-facing opportunity with significant creative ownership. The ideal designer will have a strong background in experiential, retail, environmental, or spatial design, with the ability to take concepts from early sketches through polished 2D and 3D designs and practical physical build-outs.

    Job Description

    This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Experiential, 3D, or Spatial Designer who enjoys developing creative concepts for physical environments and can translate ideas into thoughtful, executable designs.

    What You'll Do:

    • Lead creative development for a branded retail pop-up environment.
    • Develop concepts, sketches, presentations, and creative decks.
    • Create polished 2D and 3D designs and visualizations for the physical environment.
    • Translate creative direction into thoughtful and executable spatial designs.
    • Develop concepts for retail environments, customer experiences, and physical spaces.
    • Support both early-stage conceptual development and detailed design.
    • Design and visualize physical build-outs and spatial elements.
    • Present design concepts and creative directions to clients and project stakeholders.
    • Collaborate directly with the client and project manager throughout the engagement.
    • Incorporate client feedback and iterate quickly on designs.
    • Take ownership of creative work from initial concept through design development.
    • Ensure designs are visually compelling while remaining practical and executable.
    • Work efficiently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
    Qualifications

    Requirements:

    • Strong professional experience in experiential, environmental, retail, spatial, or 3D design.
    • Proven experience designing retail environments and physical build-outs.
    • Strong 2D and 3D design and visualization capabilities.
    • Experience taking projects from initial concepts and sketches through detailed design.
    • Ability to translate creative direction into practical, executable spatial solutions.
    • Strong presentation and communication skills.
    • Comfortable presenting creative concepts directly to clients.
    • Ability to confidently receive feedback and incorporate revisions.
    • Strong creative problem-solving and attention to detail.
    • Comfortable taking ownership of projects and working with minimal supervision.
    • Strong collaboration skills when working with clients, project managers, and other creative stakeholders.

    Nice to Haves:

    • Experience with experiential architecture or experiential design.
    • Experience designing permanent retail or commercial build-outs.
    • Experience working on pop-up stores, branded environments, or customer experiences.
    • Experience working with major consumer, retail, or lifestyle brands.
    • Experience working with architects, fabricators, contractors, or production teams.
    • Strong 3D rendering and visualization capabilities.
    • Previous client-facing experience presenting design concepts and creative solutions.
    • Based in or near New York City, or able to attend key onsite meetings and presentations.
    Additional Information
    • Location: New York City strongly preferred; exceptional remote candidates may be considered.
    • Engagement: Freelance / independent contractor opportunity.
    • Start: ASAP.
    • Duration: Approximately 2.5 months, with potential to extend.
    • Hours: Up to 40 hours per week.
    • This is a highly collaborative and client-facing engagement with significant creative ownership.
    • The designer will work closely with the client and project manager to develop concepts, present designs, incorporate feedback, and move the creative work toward execution.
    • Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple rounds of creative feedback throughout the project.
