What is a freelance partner alliance manager?

A Freelance Partner Alliance Manager is a professional who works independently to build, manage, and optimize relationships between organizations and their strategic partners or alliances. Their primary responsibility is to create mutually beneficial collaborations that drive business growth, often by identifying new partnership opportunities, negotiating agreements, and ensuring ongoing communication and performance management. Unlike full-time employees, freelance alliance managers typically work on a contract basis for multiple clients or projects, offering flexibility and specialized expertise.

How does a freelance partner alliance manager typically collaborate with internal teams and external partners?

A Freelance Partner Alliance Manager serves as a vital bridge between a company's internal teams—such as sales, marketing, and product development—and external business partners. They facilitate clear communication, align goals, and ensure that partnership initiatives run smoothly. This often involves coordinating regular meetings, tracking progress on joint projects, and resolving any issues that arise. Strong collaboration skills are essential, as the manager must balance the needs of multiple stakeholders and foster long-term, mutually beneficial relationships.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a freelance partner alliance manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Freelance Partner Alliance Manager, you need a solid background in business development, partner relationship management, and strategic planning, often supported by experience in sales or marketing. Familiarity with CRM software, partnership management platforms, and contract negotiation tools is typically required. Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills help build trust and facilitate mutually beneficial collaborations. These abilities ensure effective alliance growth, seamless project execution, and sustainable business success in a dynamic, client-focused environment.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced AWS Partner Alliance Manager to strengthen and expand our strategic relationship with AWS, with a particular focus on driving sales and adoption of NucleusTeq's NuoData solution across AWS's ecosystem. This role is responsible for developing and executing joint go-to-market strategies with AWS, overseeing sales and technical alignment, and maximizing our presence on the AWS Marketplace. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in AWS cloud services and a proven record of managing high-impact alliances.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Alliance Development: Lead the relationship with AWS to support co-selling initiatives, focusing on increasing sales of NuoData and other NucleusTeq offerings. Identify new growth opportunities and optimize our AWS alliance strategy, with a key emphasis on achieving Migration Acceleration Partner (MAP) status and other critical initiatives
  • AWS Product Expertise & Alignment: Provide deep technical insight on AWS services (e.g., AWS Lambda, Amazon RDS, Amazon S3, Amazon Redshift, Amazon SageMaker, and AWS Glue) to drive technical enablement and collaboration with AWS solution architects for NuoData integrations.
  • AWS Marketplace Management: Oversee and enhance NucleusTeq's presence on the AWS Marketplace. Manage product listings, pricing strategies, private offers and promotional campaigns, ensuring that NuoData is prominently positioned to attract and retain customers
  • Sales Enablement: Collaborate with AWS and internal sales teams to implement joint selling and enablement programs. Train the sales force on AWS co-sell best practices and align AWS-specific messaging with NucleusTeq's unique value propositions for NuoData.
  • Technical Pre-Sales Support: Act as the technical lead for AWS-aligned solutions, assisting with architecture design and deployment strategies for NuoData and other offerings on AWS. Support customer-facing teams in explaining how NucleusTeq's solutions leverage AWS's cloud capabilities for business impact.
  • Co-Marketing Initiatives: Develop and lead AWS co-marketing campaigns for NuoData, including events, digital outreach, and joint content creation that highlight AWS-native features and seamless integration capabilities
  • Pipeline Management & Reporting: Work closely with sales & marketing to track pipeline growth through the AWS alliance, providing regular updates on performance metrics, ROI, and key joint activities. Lead quarterly business reviews with AWS to highlight successes and areas for growth.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 6+ years in cloud-focused channel sales, alliance management, or similar roles, with significant experience in managing AWS partnerships and go-to-market activities. Preferred previous AWS PDM or PDR experience
  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of AWS services and architecture, including AWS compute (EC2, Lambda), storage (S3), database (RDS, Redshift), AI/ML (SageMaker), integration services (API Gateway), and analytics tools (Glue, Athena, EMR). Familiarity with best practices for cloud architecture, security, and data management on AWS.
  • AWS Marketplace Experience: Hands-on experience with AWS Marketplace, including product listing optimization, campaign management, and pricing strategies to drive sales growth for software solutions.
  • Sales & Marketing Collaboration: Proven record of driving joint sales and co-marketing initiatives within the AWS ecosystem, especially focused on data-driven products like NuoData.
  • Technical Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate/Professional), AWS Certified Developer, or other relevant AWS certifications strongly preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills, able to effectively bridge technical and business teams, and articulate complex cloud concepts to various audiences.
  • Results-oriented: Data-driven, with strong analytical skills and the ability to use insights to optimize AWS co-selling and joint marketing strategies.
