Fabrication Lab Assistant

Position Function: The Fabrication Lab Assistant at USD 232 supports the instructional program within Cedar Trails Exploration Center (CTEC CAPS) by assisting with the daily operations of the fabrication lab. This position places a strong emphasis on student supervision, safety enforcement, and maintaining a structured, secure learning environment. The assistant works closely with instructors to ensure students safely engage in hands-on learning experiences involving tools, machinery, and fabrication processes.
 





Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to supervise students effectively in a hands-on learning environment
  • Basic familiarity with fabrication tools, equipment, or technical processes
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe and structured environment
  • Clear and completed background check
  • Clear and completed TB test

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a CTE program, makerspace, or fabrication lab
  • Experience working with middle or high school students preferred
  • OSHA 10 (or willingness to obtain)
  • First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Background in trades, manufacturing, engineering, or related field


Starting Salary:  $17.50/hour - commensurate with experience
Job Category: Classified, 174-day calendar, 7.5 hours/day, 37.5 hours/week

Requirements:
-All employees must have a current TB test (Tuberculosis). If you've had a recent TB Test (less than 12 months ago) we can accept a copy of your test results.  If it's been more than 1 year ago, you will be required to obtain a new test.  Employees are responsible for the cost of the test.
-Must submit pre-employment physical prior to first day of work.
