Be a part of Kidokinetics, a fitness and sports program for children. Kidokinetics is an exciting and unique program dedicated to transforming lives by making sports and fitness accessible, welcoming, and fun. Children improve coordination, develop motor skills, and learn the fundamentals of a variety of sports in a non-competitive play-based environment while building their confidence. Our high energy classes are offered at various locations and classes are structured and age-appropriate for children ages 1 to 12. Kidokinetics of Des Moines also offers birthday parties, camp programs, and customizable Kidolocal events.

This is an immediate part-time on-site role for a Children’s Fitness/Sports Coach at Kidokinetics in the Des Moines metro. This role is ideal for college students, recent graduates, side-hustlers, freelancers, stay-at-home spouses, or anyone with a flexible daytime schedule.

What You’ll Do:

● Coach and guide toddler, preschool and elementary-aged children (ages 1-12) through sports and fitness activities

● Deliver age-appropriate sports lessons that focus on skill-building and physical fitness including warm-ups, obstacle courses, and game-based activities

● Create a positive, inclusive environment that encourages teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love for sports

● Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during sessions

● Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members, offering feedback and updates

● Maintain accurate records of attendance and any incidents during sessions

● Collaborate with the team to develop and improve sports programs and stay updated on coaching techniques, safety protocols, and sports trends

What We’re Looking For:

● Experience: Minimum of 1 year working with children (ages 1 and above)

● Passion: A genuine love for working with kids and helping them grow through sports

● Energy: High-energy, positive attitude with a desire to make a difference in children's lives

● Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to effectively work with children, directors, and parents

● Organizational Skills: Ability to plan and prepare for a lesson that will engage children in 30-60 minute sessions

● Reliability: Punctual and responsible, with a commitment to creating a safe and fun environment

Requirements:

● Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable car for commuting to different schools, daycares, and park locations

● Must live in or be able to commute to the Des Moines metro area

● Must pass a level 2 background check, including criminal record and child abuse clearance

● Must be physically able to lift approximately 20 pounds (you will be required to move sports equipment from the car to a storage location or school)
