Job description

Uber AI Solutions is Uberโ€™s marketplace connecting skilled freelancers with Generative AI researchers and product teams working on cutting-edge AI systems. We partner with independent contractors to support large-scale model evaluation, alignment, and quality initiatives.

We are seeking a Legal Reviewer. Instead of just checking facts, you will perform senior-level quality audits to identify where tasks may be legally ambiguous. You'll ensure that the work produced by other collaborations is professional, jurisdictionally accurate, and practically sound.

What youโ€™ll work on

  • Quality Oversight: Review and refine the guidelines used to train the AI to ensure they align with standard legal practices.
  • Expert Review: Audit complex legal outputs to identify errors in logic or jurisdictional nuance.
  • Root-Cause Analysis: Determine if inconsistencies in data arise from flawed instructions or misunderstood prompts.
  • Professional Alignment: Ensure work reflects the standards expected of senior or lead counsel.

Who we are looking for

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or Master of Laws (LLM). Bar Admission (current or former) in good standing is required.
  • 20+ years of legal experience, specifically in senior leadership projects such as Senior In-House Counsel or Lead Litigator.
  • A practical understanding of how generative AI tasks are used for legal research and contract drafting.
  • Familiarity with professional systems like eDiscovery platforms or advanced research databases.

Project details

  • Hours: Expected hours per week is between 20 - 35
  • Commitment: Project duration varies based on client needs and demand. When we receive projects that match your skill set, we'll make sure you are notified.
  • Location: Remote (You must be based in the United States).

Why this matters

Your expertise will guide how AI systems handle the weight of legal language. By evaluating and refining legal prompts and responses, youโ€™ll help ensure that AI is not only accurate but also clear, safe, and legally sound for real-world application.
