Job Title: Fabrication B (Ceramics Pressing/Forming Operator)

Job Code: 40920

Job Location: Salt Lake City, UT

Job Schedule: 9/80 (Every other Friday off)

Job Description:

Plans work and layout, sets up and fabricates a wide variety of intricate, experimental and/or production parts from raw and finished powders. Includes operating numerous presses and using other hand tools. Works with and interprets standard work instructions, charts, tables, blueprints, formulas, sketches, verbal and electronic orders, job layouts, etc. to accomplish assigned work. Checks and inspects operations against specified tolerances.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Must be able to use basic hand tools and fixturing
  • Must use PPE for appropriate protection.
  • Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and shop orders.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Pressing parts to a given size and density.
  • Able to install specified tooling and setting job up to specifications.
  • Maintain the forming tooling inventory. Ensure that the tooling list is accurate and that all forming tools are maintained in useable condition.
  • Keep an accurate completion of required documentation involved in the forming of parts, travelers, logs, process control data etc.
  • House keeping
  • Preventive maintenance
  • Easily trained, work well with engineering and supervisor.

 

Qualifications:

  • Requires developing job knowledge/skills.
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  •  Experience with Microsoft Office products and data entry.
  •  Mechanical experience background.
  •  Forklift operating experience.
  •  Good writing and communications skills.
  •  Basic math skills.
