Job description

  • Own the software strategy and technical roadmap for the Custom Solutions organization.
  • Define software architecture standards, development methodologies, coding practices, and governance.
  • Architect complex customer solutions integrating Rohde & Schwarz instruments, third-party hardware, automation frameworks, and enterprise software.
  • Drive decision-making between 3rd party software vendors vs internal development.
  • Drive development of reusable software frameworks, APIs, libraries, and reference architectures to reduce custom engineering effort.
  • Lead technical discovery sessions, requirements analysis, and solution definition with strategic customers.
  • Develop technical proposals, Statements of Work (SOWs), software architecture documentation, and implementation plans.
  • Provide technical leadership throughout project execution, including design reviews, code reviews, and technical risk mitigation.
  • Establish best practices for CI/CD, version control, cybersecurity, software quality, and lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, R&D, Sales, Customer Success, and Systems Engineering to align custom solutions with product roadmaps.
  • Mentor software engineers and solution architects while fostering engineering excellence and innovation.
