About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Engineer to design, build, and optimize our Power BI environment and data infrastructure. This role combines technical expertise with team leadership and mentorship, guiding best practices without formal management responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in data engineering, BI development, and governance, with the ability to collaborate across teams and influence technical direction.
Responsibilities:
  • Design, build, and support data warehousing (Data Vault 2.0) and BI solutions.
  • Develop, promote, and provide ongoing support for ETL workflows.
  • Develop and validate sources to target mappings and transformation logic.
  • Design and maintain data models used for reporting and analytics.
  • Modify existing reports, extracts, and dashboards as necessary.
  • Supports data automation, quality, and governance.
  • Conduct data profiling, data cleansing, and assessing the integrity of data from multiple sources to ensure high quality data.
  • Support development of Data Dictionaries and Data Taxonomy for product solutions.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure team to design and implement internal process improvements, greater scalability, optimization of data delivery, and automating manual processes.
  • Assist in data migration and data ingestion to core systems during active mergers, acquisitions, or other assigned projects.
  • Create reusable datasets in support of insights and analytics for the organization.
  • Create and maintain information and data flow diagrams.
  • Leverage existing data infrastructure to fulfill all data-related requests, perform necessary data housekeeping, data cleansing, normalization, hashing, and implementation of required data model changes.
  • Help the broader team identify new features and business opportunities through analysis.
  • Support upgrades, configuration and troubleshooting for business intelligence tools.
  • Identify development needs to improve and streamline operations.
  • Drive best practices in code quality & reusability, data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
  • Follows established BT standards and practices.
  • Comply with all Federal Regulations as they pertain to your job duties, including BSA.

Position Requirements:
  • This position is Remote.
  • Bachelors Degree, or commensurate experience is Required.
  • 3+ years of prior experience in data engineering and business intelligence development is Required.
  • Prior experience working in a financial institution such as a bank or credit union is Required.
  • Working knowledge of Business Intelligence tools (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, Looker, PowerBI, DAX) is Required.
  • Experience with credit union and bank vendors (MeridianLink, nCino, Fiserv, etc.) is Required.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud technologies like S3, AWS Glue, Glue Catalog, Athena, AWS Lambda, AWS DMS, PySpark, and Snowflake is Required.
  • Experience in writing SQL/NoSQL; Solid understanding of relational databases and business data; ability to write complex queries against a variety of data sources is Required.
  • Experience developing back-end, cloud data warehouse solutions like Snowflake (e.g., managing staging and external tables, variant data types, etc.) is Required.
  • Experience in data engineering or data architecture concepts including approach, data lakes, data extraction, and data transformation is Required.
  • Proficiency in designing, developing, and maintaining ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, tools, and pipelines is Required.
