Corporate Director of Quality

Inpatient Psychiatric Hospitals | Multi-Facility Leadership


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Corporate Director of Quality to lead quality, patient safety, and regulatory compliance initiatives across our inpatient psychiatric hospitals.


In this role, you will provide system-wide oversight of ourQuality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program, ensuring alignment with CMS Conditions of Participation and Joint Commission standards. You'll play a key role in driving a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement while partnering with executive and clinical leadership across all facilities.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the organization's QAPI program across multiple hospitals
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with CMS and Joint Commission standards
  • Monitor and analyze key quality indicators, including:
    • Patient safety and clinical outcomes
    • Restraint and seclusion practices
    • Patient rights and medication safety
  • Drive performance improvement initiatives (PIPs) using proven methodologies (PDSA, Lean, Six Sigma)
  • Lead Joint Commission readiness efforts, including mock surveys, tracers, and gap analyses
  • Oversee responses to surveys, RFIs, and accreditation requirements
  • Partner with leadership on:
    • Root Cause Analyses (RCAs)
    • Sentinel events and investigations
    • Risk reduction strategies
  • Develop and present quality dashboards and reports to executive leadership and governing bodies
  • Standardize quality processes, metrics, and reporting across all facilities
  • Provide education and coaching to leaders and teams on quality, compliance, and patient safety
  • Serve as the subject matter expert during surveys, audits, and regulatory reviews


What We're Looking For:

  • Strong knowledge of CMS Conditions of Participation and Joint Commission standards
  • Proven experience leading quality and patient safety programs in healthcare
  • Expertise in data analysis, performance improvement, and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to influence and partner with executive and clinical leadership
  • Experience supporting multi-site or system-level operations preferred


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • 5-7+ years of healthcare quality leadership experience
  • Behavioral health or inpatient psychiatric experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated success with CMS surveys and Joint Commission accreditation


Preferred:

  • RN license
  • CPHQ (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality) certification
  • Experience in a multi-facility healthcare environment


This role requires regular travel between hospital locations, with an expectation of being onsite approximately four days per week.
