Job Description:

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD), is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Certified Nursing Assistant on the Skilled Unit at Georgia Regional Hospital - Atlanta, located in Decatur, GA.

Salary Range: $36,608.00 - $44,096.00

Shifts: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM -3:00 PM - 11:30 PM - 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Job Description:

Performs assigned direct care activities and basic nursing procedures in a Skilled Nursing Facility.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assists nursing staff in assessing the client's physical and mental condition according to policies and procedures.
  • Assists with patient's feeding (this may include tube feeding), personal hygiene and grooming functions as necessary.
  • Turns and re-positions bedridden clients, with assistance, to prevent and/or promote the healing of pressure sores.
  • Completes required documentation in patient and unit records.
  • Follows hospital/departmental procedures regarding infection control.
  • Performs basic nursing procedures, such as taking vital signs, weight, specimens according to the treatment plan.
  • Provides training and/or direction to patients in activities of daily living in order to promote increased independence.
  • Utilizes correct body mechanics in performing patient care activities to prevent injury.
  • Maintains current certification with the State Aide Registry (NAR). (Performed by all incumbents)
  • Completes a minimum of 24 hours of in-service education (training), as required by NAR each year, to maintain current CNA certification.
