The Role


As an Associate, Technology & Operations Business Management, you will contribute to the financial and operational management of the Technology & Operations department by leading independent initiatives that support strategic priorities and business operations. You will partner with stakeholders across the organization to deliver financial planning, reporting, analysis, and process improvement initiatives while supporting business-as-usual activities and special projects. Reporting relationship to be confirmed.


The Team


Technology & Operations (T&O) enables CPP Investments' investment and enterprise functions through secure, scalable technology solutions and operational excellence. The department partners across the organization to deliver innovative capabilities, effective governance, and operational efficiency that support CPP Investments' long-term investment mandate.

The Strategy & Operations (S&O) team is responsible for the financial and workforce management of the Technology & Operations department. The team leads budgeting, forecasting, financial oversight, reporting, and cost optimization while providing strategic insights that support informed decision-making and operational excellence.

Accountabilities

  • Prepare timely financial reporting, trend analysis, and insights that support informed business decisions.

  • Partner with stakeholders across Technology & Operations and the broader organization to foster collaboration and achieve business objectives.

  • Coordinate the development of three-year financial plans and quarterly forecasts using a zero-based budgeting approach.

  • Analyze financial data, processes, and systems to identify opportunities for operational improvements and cost optimization.

  • Monitor departmental objectives and prepare progress updates and executive-ready summaries for senior leadership.

  • Coordinate business requirements gathering and provide testing support for new departmental systems and tools.

  • Support strategic initiatives, special projects, and other ad hoc activities as required.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.

  • CPA designation is considered an asset.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in financial analysis, strategy, or operations.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with the ability to develop practical recommendations.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organization.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing business needs, and deliver results within established timelines.
