The Lead Patient Access Representative is responsible for coordinating the Patient Access functions with the patient, medical staff, Patient Accounting Department, Nursing, and Ancillary Departments. They assist with staffing and the scheduling of the department and work queues to ensure the smooth delivery of services and departmental efficiency.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • Actas a resource for staff regarding Information Systems and assist with instructing and educating staff on systems and operational processes.
  • Prepare work schedules and process for departmental operations and personnel, with guidance from their Supervisor.
  • Work with appropriate patient work ques and ensures staff are working with them as well.
  • Assist in the monitoring of coworkers' performance and provide feedback to appropriate staff members to contribute to coworker evaluations.
  • Execute designated Bed Planning functions and ensures good communication and alignment of tasks to reduce bed shortages and bed hiding as appropriate.
  • Request Point of Service (POS) collections for Copayment, Prepayment and Outstanding Balances and assist patient in contacting financial counselors and/or Customer Service for further explanation/education on the patient cost share, payment plans, and Charity options.
  • Full-time Hours: Evenings


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Preferred Associate's Degree
  • Required High School Diploma/GED
  • 1 year Revenue Cycle Required
