We are looking for talented Writers to join the #1 national cable news program, Fox & Friends and Fox & Friends First. You use creative and conversational copy to pull viewers in. You know the difference between an attention-grabbing headline and burying the lead. You are also quick to jump on breaking news and a great communicator. The writer position will entail working directly with reporters and correspondents.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Write VO's, VO/SOT's and reporter stories under tight deadline pressure

  • Create graphics and edit video via your desktop

  • Communicate critical story information with producers and managers

  • Operate as a team player

  • Pitch story ideas

  • Conduct thorough research on top stories

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Major market experience

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience

  • Flexibility to work both weekend and weekday overnight hours

  • Ability to write creatively for morning television

  • Thorough knowledge of current events, US politics, geopolitics, foreign policy and history

  • Ability to manage breaking news

  • Someone who demonstrates initiative, is proactive and self-motivated

Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
