Job description

Are you a Manufacturing Supervisor professional eager to advance your career?  Emerson, a top-tier organization, presents an outstanding opening for a Melt/Molding Supervisor on our 2nd shift! This role at Emerson's Appleton Foundry in South Milwaukee, WI location, offers a fantastic chance to improve and oversee our 2nd shift operations, personnel and safety of the department to ensure the on-time shipment of quality castings.  You will monitor department costs, quality methods and requirements and the effective use of production hours, labor skills and furnaces.  Additionally, you will participate in planning and staffing requirements.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

           Maintain production to achieve company goals within acceptable scrap levels

           Maintain and enforce safety program for the production department; review safety records to uphold company policies to ensure a safe environment for all employees

           Be accountable for the melt department, relating to departmental costs, quality, equipment efficiency and quantity of production

           Spend majority of time working in the department during production to exercise firsthand direction and control of the activities along with ensuring company policies are being followed

           Assist management in general foundry problems, whether it be quality problems or capital expenditures for the department

           Ensure and audit 5s+1 policies in the department

           Provide leadership and administer company rules, regulations, union rules and policies

           Assume responsibility and exercise means to direct, co-ordinate, train and supervise all Melt Department operations across all shifts

You provide appropriate guidance and direction based on people's capabilities. You adjust communication to fit the audience and the message. You Team build with fellow Supervisors in order to build rapport. 

For This Role, You Will Need:

           Minimum of two (2) years of foundry supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment

           A high school diploma is required 

           Strong problem-solving skills

           Good leadership and organizational skills

           Good written and verbal communication skills

           Available to work weekends to support production

           Direct, train and maintain, the repair of furnaces, ladles, and pouring spouts, using refractory, ensuring that these components operate efficiently and safely, helping to prevent heat loss, corrosion, and damage

           Responsible for managing a team of skilled technicians, you will be tasked with coordinating the installation, and maintenance of high-performance refractory materials used in a variety of Melt Shop applications, using union employees as well as outside contractors

           Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this position

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

           Foundry supervision preferred

           Induction melting preferred=

           Coreless induction furnaces, DISA Vertical molding and Isocure core making

           Five (5) years' experience in a foundry preferred

           Some college and/or additional training/Metallurgy preferred
