Job description

Job purpose

This role performs duties and tasks related to the rough grinding for castings

Duties and responsibilities

  • Rough grind castings to remove gates
  • Identify cold pour and mis-runs (excessive scrap)
  • Communicate status and issues with:
  • First time runs
  • Wheel Usage
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High Diploma or GED
  • Ability to read work instructions and operating procedures for various machines and parts
  • Strong personal organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to do basic math for counting parts
  • Previous experience with Heat Treat

Working conditions

  • May be exposed to industrial oils, toner, coolants, solvents, lubricants, adhesive and other chemicals
  • Foundry Environment
  • Could work in areas with excessive noise
  • Exposure to fumes

Physical requirements

  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds
  • Standing for extended periods of time
  • Physical agility to move quickly, climb ladders
  • Able to twist and bend while moving pans of parts
