Job description

 The Cybersecurity Engineer II provides comprehensive cybersecurity support for the Product Manager Biometrics (PM BIO), under Project Manager Terrestrial Sensors (PM TS), Portfolio Acquisition Executive (PAE) Layered Protection and Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN). 


  • Provide cybersecurity expertise to ensure systems comply with military Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements, adhering to DoDI 8510.01 for DoD Information Technology (IT).
  • Support the Authority to Operate (ATO) process and maintain ATO certifications. Perform technical assessments of systems using Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP), and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Identify and analyze system vulnerabilities and generate Plans of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms). Recommend and implement remediation strategies for identified security deficiencies. Provide expertise on cloud and network security.

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in cybersecurity, computer, or engineering discipline
  • DoD 8570.01-Manual (M) Baseline Certification for an Information Assurance Manager (IAM) Level III
  • Five (5) years of professional experience with cybersecurity engineering
  • Experience in the application of cybersecurity on large, complex information systems. Proficient understanding of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and an understanding of programmatic impacts for the implementation of all common control requirements.
  • Experience with Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS); Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS); Host Based Security System (HBSS); Data Loss Prevention-Endpoint (DLPe); Endpoint Security (ENS); ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO); Tychon, Threat Intelligence and analysis; Internet of Things (IoT); AI/ML; Windows Server Update Services (WSUS); SIEM tools such as Splunk, Cloud Security Infrastructure products and tools; Cloud security and virtualization tools; Identity and Access Management; Intrusion Detection System (IDS) /Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) tools; and SCAP, STIG Viewer, Evaluate STIG tool.
  • Secret security clearance.
