Job Summary
The Office of Advancement is seeking a student to support the GGC Foundation and its team in day-to-day operations and special projects. As a representative of the Advancement department and the GGC Foundation, the student in this position will handle sensitive information and will be expected to have the maturity to assist with this and will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement upon hire.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with accounting activity including assembling print and electronic documentation and reports.
  • Process purchasing requests and purchase orders and match purchase orders to invoices.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and assist with the preparation of quarterly financials as assigned.
  • Process check and electronic payments.
  • Assist with monthly budget report preparation.
  • Prepare and enter journal entries as necessary.
  • Assist with basic administrative support such as filing, scanning, and data entry.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Georgia Gwinnett College.
  • Must be in good academic standing and maintain good academic standing for the duration of employment.
  • Must be in good conduct standing with Georgia Gwinnett College and maintain good conduct for the duration of employment.
  • Professional demeanor with ability to apply judgement, discretion, and confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to be highly organized, attentive to details, and present good time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn new skills to accomplish tasks.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Be willing and able to become certified for driving golf carts on campus.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Student with a business major or interest in accounting.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work 10 to 20 hours per week.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Hold a valid driver's license.
