Job Description

The Network and Security Administrator will be responsible for overseeing, supporting, and managing the infrastructure of firewalls, proxies, DNS servers, and load balancers to support the production environment. The administrator must possess technical knowledge of these technologies and operating systems, be able to manage project responsibilities, and communicate updates effectively. The ability to provide 24/7 support is required

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and verify all firewalls, proxies, and associated equipment as needed;

  • Maintain and organize reporting information and documentation on current technology for review by management;

  • Produce and maintain detailed documentation at various levels for all Checkpoint, Fortinet, F5, Infoblox, McAfee, and Bluecoat;

  • Provide daily support and deployment of systems related to firewalls, proxies, DNS, and load balancers for the Americas region;

  • Perform routine maintenance operations for all systems, including operating system updates, hardware repairs, etc.;

  • Work closely with the IT security team to implement, verify, and review security policies;

  • Adhere to the controls, policies, and procedures defined by ITP to proactively manage IT risks, enhance predictability in core operations, minimize impact on the production environment, and improve stability and visibility through documentation;

  • Provide Level 3 support for all firewall, proxy, DNS, and load balancer systems in the Americas region;

  • Work with the system support team to resolve complex cross-platform issues;

  • Design, maintain, and troubleshoot the firewall, proxy, DNS, and load balancer environment in accordance with corporate and security standards;

  • Implement and support multi-vendor firewall platforms, including Checkpoint and Fortigate;

  • Design, support, and maintain HTTP/HTTPS and SOCKS proxy environments using Bluecoat SG series and McAfee.

Qualifications

  • 10 years of relevant experience;

  • In-depth understanding of the installation, configuration, and optimization of BigIP (F5) LTM/GTM for load balancing, CheckPoint, Fortinet, McAfee, or Blue Coat (HTTP/Socks), and Infoblox DNS/DHCP;

  • In-depth understanding of TCP/IP fundamentals and network security technologies such as clustering, transparent mode, SSL/VPN, and CLI commands (Bash, shell, IOS...);

  • Good knowledge of CheckPoint multi-domain servers and Fortinet management tools;

  • Experience with HP Network Automation and SolarWinds is a plus;

  • Strong technical skills and project management experience.

  • Ability to provide 24/7 support;

  • Excellent communication skills in English, as the position requires communicating with clients outside of Quebec.
