Position Summary

We are seeking candidates who are passionate about managing and supporting the Fort Polk Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) training requirements. The position is full-time and exempt.

The selected candidate will work on site at the JRTC Joint Operations Center (JOC) on Fort Polk, LA. The person in this role will function in a high OPTEMPO environment receiving, collecting, and analyzing data via radio communications, pertaining to US Army Special Operations Forces (SOF) combat operations; must be able to effectively input data and reports into assigned computer systems in a timely manner, ensuring that all data points are addressed and accurate; be able to receive and collect data and format same using MS Office suite and other multi-media applications to facilitate a learning objective; possess the ability to communicate effectively over assigned radio using proper military communication procedures; able to work shift work with extended hours, up to 12 hours per shift; able to articulate military style writing when transcribing radio communications into written reports; able to travel unaccompanied to continental US and foreign locations. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; must submit to and pass pre-employment drug screening; will be subject to random drug screening.

This is an exciting opportunity for a successful applicant to ensure readiness of our Army’s Soldiers and units.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Possess minimum two (2) years of experience in a similar position
  • Possess a BS or BA degree, or military/civilian experience commensurate with duties in lieu of degree
  • Possess an understanding of commonly used USAF and US Army tactical acronyms, abbreviations, pro-words, and map symbols
  • Experience in operating the JRTC-Instrumentation System for digital data and video entry, retrieval, and manipulation
  • US Citizenship and fluency in the English language is required
  • Ability to obtain/maintain an active Secret security clearance is required
  • Travel expected to be less than 10%
Knowledge/Skills/Experience
  • Possess valid state driver's license and maintain post driving privileges
  • Able to operate a computer for extended times
  • Able to work independently with minimal guidance
  • Proficient in MS Office suite
  • Experienced in collecting, tracking, cataloging, and analyzing rotational training exercise info and reports
Desired Qualifications
  • Graduate of the US Army Battle Staff NCO course or service equivalent
  • Graduate of the US Army Advanced Leader Course, Senior Leader Course or service equivalent
  • Active Secret security clearance
  • Associates degree preferred if experience is substituted in lieu of BS or BA Degree
  • Basic military knowledge of Infantry and Special Operations fundamentals
