Jamison Professional Services, Inc. ("Jamison") is currently seeking a qualified and motivated candidate for the position of Medical Support Assistant.
Job Title: Medical Support Assistant - Fort Harrison, MT
This is a 100% remote position for candidates residing within 50 miles of an eligible VISN 19 VA Medical Center.
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES:
As a Medical Support Assistant, you will assist Veterans by scheduling appointments, coordinating community care referrals, maintaining patient information, and providing outstanding customer service while supporting VA healthcare operations
Hourly Rate: $21.02 + Benefits
Responsibilities:
Schedule and coordinate patient appointments in accordance with VA policies.
Process Community Care referrals using VA systems.
Maintain accurate patient demographic information.
Coordinate care with community healthcare providers.
Answer incoming calls professionally and provide excellent customer service.
Respond to patient and provider inquiries regarding services.
Document information accurately within VA electronic health record systems.
Monitor consults and appointment status to ensure timely completion.
Utilize Microsoft Office Suite and VA applications daily.
Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect sensitive patient information.
Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.
REQUIRED AND DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
High School Diploma or GED
Must reside in the United States
Minimum of 6 months of customer service experience
Knowledge of medical terminology
Typing speed of 50+ words per minute
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Computer proficiency
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Experience in medical scheduling or healthcare administration
Previous experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR)
Experience in a call center or healthcare customer service environment
Preferred: Familiarity with VA systems such as CPRS, VistA, HSRM, PPMS, CTM, or similar healthcare applications is highly desirable.
Location: Remote
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm, excluding federal holidays.
Clearance Level Required: Employment is contingent upon successfully completing any required background checks, in accordance with applicable law.
