JOB SUMMARY

The Forestry Manager oversees daily operations, personnel, and overall performance. This role is also responsible for standing up a new service line within Eocene, requiring strong industry knowledge, strategic planning capability, and the ability to conduct or interpret industry analyses to ensure successful service launch and long-term viability.

  • Manage financial performance and oversee regional operations, including staffing, onboarding, training, fleet management, and client expectations
  • Develop and manage annual operating and project budgets; oversee payroll, billing, revenue tracking, and monthend financial deliverables; conduct monthly variance analysis
  • Ensure monthly production targets and client performance requirements are met through effective labor, equipment, and resource utilization
  • Oversee the full project lifecycle from initiation through closeout, ensuring safe, timely, and highquality project execution
  • Allocate personnel, equipment, and materials to meet operational demands and project requirements.
  • Maintain operational metrics and reporting serve as the primary escalation point for operational and client issues
  • Manage and develop future management and operational staff through coaching, feedback, and performance management
  • Partner with Human Resources on employee development, performance evaluations, and personnel matters
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and meetings, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities; ensure inclusion on bid lists and manage RFPs through award and successful startup
  • Update and monitor the internal sales tracker; conduct sales visits, presentations, and represent the company at industry events
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements; enforce safe work practices and PPE use
  • Travel to field sites and client locations as required and remain available for emergency response situations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to motivate, engage, and develop staff
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate multiple projects while effectively working with employees
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent oral and written communications
  • Knowledge of OH&S requirements, environmental regulations, and forestry/IVM best practices.
  • Proficiency in map reading, navigation, Microsoft Office, and Apple-based tools
  • Adaptability to changing conditions, remote environments, and varied weather

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Possess an understanding of Eocene Environmental Group's Vision, Mission, and Values
  • Degree in Forestry or related field
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in management or leadership position is preferred
  • Valid driver's license
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 35% of the time
  • Registered Professional Forester
  • SAF Certified Forester or ACF Certified Forester are preferred
