Forest Restoration professionals often work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, sometimes in remote or rugged terrain. You can expect to spend much of your time conducting fieldwork, such as planting native vegetation, managing invasive species, collecting ecological data, and monitoring restoration sites. Some office work will also be involved for planning projects, preparing reports, or analyzing environmental data. The work is usually collaborative, involving coordination with scientists, land managers, local communities, and government agencies. Being prepared for physical activity and flexible work hours, especially during project peaks or prescribed burns, is important in this role.
