Job description

Louisiana Bridge Builders (โ€œLBBโ€) is designing and building the new I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge in Lake Charles, Louisiana (USA) for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD). LBB will also be responsible for the reconstruction of interstate highway, various structures, ramps, and approaches for a 5.5 mile stretch between I-210 West End and Ryan Street.

POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY

The Construction Foreman II is committed to supporting Louisiana Bridge Builders by planning, organizing, managing, and participating the day-to-day onsite duties of the project.

LOCATION

This position is based in Lake Charles, LA.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of the crew and occasionally may also engage in the trade work of the employees being supervised.
  2. Assistance with the preparation the reports for Louisiana Department of Transportation & Development (LADOTD) and Developer.
  3. Maintains accurate reporting records including job quantities, time sheets, and daily management reports.
  4. Oversee the daily operations and maintenance activities, ensuring they are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with standards and regulations.
  5. Track and analyze equipment and facility performance data to identify issues, enhance efficiency, and improve reliability.
  6. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
  7. Understand and comply with all Company Safety policies and procedures as well as OSHA Regulations.
  8. Quickly respond to breakdowns or emergencies, mobilize resources, and implement corrective measures to restore operations safely.
  9. Assist in the assurance of contractual compliance in terms of scope work.
  10. Participates in safety and environmental programs and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
  11. Hire, motivate, and lead a high-performing team through coaching, top-tier talent retention, and directed recruiting efforts.
  12. Supervises team, including training, providing work direction, problem-solving assistance, reviewing performance, recommending salary increases, promotions, transfers, demotions, and terminations.
  13. Maintain an inventory of tools, parts, and consumables, ensuring critical spares are available to avoid operational interruptions.
  14. Performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

At a minimum, the Construction Foreman II must have 5+ years of relevant civil experience with construction within concrete, structures, and/or roads and other senior site role with responsibility for leading and managing a multi-discipline work force on a large-scale project.
