Job description

Job Title: Legal Assistant

Department: Foreclosure 

Reports to: Foreclosure Manager/Supervisor

Location: Pompano Beach, FL

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

 

Job Summary


The Legal Assistant provides administrative and case support to attorneys and paralegals managing a high-volume foreclosure caseload. This role is responsible for assisting with document preparation, maintaining case files, coordinating communications, and tracking deadlines throughout the foreclosure process.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Case Management & Intake

  • Assist with the intake and setup of new lender foreclosure referrals
  • Maintain and update case files within the firm’s case management system
  • Ensure all case information is accurate and up to date

 

Document Preparation

  • Prepare foreclosure-related legal documents, including answers, notices, motions, written correspondence to clients and supporting materials for attorney review
  • Review documents for completeness and accuracy prior to filing

 

Court Filings & Deadline Tracking

  • File legal documents through electronic court filing systems
  • Monitor and track deadlines, hearing dates, and filing requirements
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of case activity

 

Communication & Coordination

  • Communicate effectively with attorneys, paralegals, and team members
  • Provide professional and courteous interaction with clients by email and telephone

 

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in Foreclosure procedures is preferred.
  • Minimum education High school diploma/GED
  • Experience with court filing systems is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong time management and multitasking skills
