Job Summary

The Manufacturing Planner is responsible for managing the customer facing delivery performance, finished good planning and demand planning for our build to order nutraceutical manufacturing facility.


Duties & Responsibilities

Customer Facing:

  • Interacts with customers via telephone, e-mail, or face-to-face to assist with a variety of customer inquiries and issues.
  • Demonstrates the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with
  • customers by providing order visibility, honest communication, and effective solutions to issues that may arise.
  • Interacts and communicates collaboratively within all departments to ensure appropriate delivery dates are promised and consistently achieved.
  • Manages customer New Product Introduction timelines and projects.

Resource Coordination:

  • Determine long term allocation needs for personnel, equipment, and tooling to support customer demand.
  • Report on all work center capacity constraints based on customer forecast and current demand.
  • Work with production teams and the Mast Scheduler to minimize waste in scrap, labor and/ or experience.
  • Improve customer service levels through creative collaboration resulting in a best-in-class experience.

Analyze Demand Data:

  • Coordinate and lead the monthly forecast review meeting and prepare information packet.
  • Compare forecast with actual demand and adjust forecast as necessary.
  • Coordinate with sales and manufacturing for forecast output to clearly define production plans.
  • Analyze and maintain the appropriate inventory levels in accordance with stated goals and annual turns.
  • Track and report forecast accuracy, inventory levels, inventory turns and customer on time delivery.
  • Provide support for planning, company goal and direction.

Job Requirements

  • Strong analytical skills especially in dealing with complex issues and data.
  • Statistical knowledge in business, economics and operations management.
  • Knowledge of production planning and production scheduling methodologies.
  • Ability to exercise judgment in selecting methods/techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Proficient with Excel, specifically using formulas.
  • Proficient with MRP/MPS systems.
  • Ability to accurately report and make calculations.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Education

  • APICS Certification preferred.
  • Associate degree or higher required in Supply Chain or Business-related discipline.

Work Experience:

  • 2-5 years’ experience in Analytics, Forecasting, and Production Planning.
  • 3-5 years of prior work experience in the manufacturing environment.
  • 3-5 years of experience with MRP/ERP systems.
  • Nutraceutical industry experience is preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power-point sofware.
  • General understanding of manufacturing, scheduling and materials consumption required.
  • Knowledge of inventory control practices.
