Position Summary: The Demand Planning Analyst adds value to BAPI and the Supply Chain team by developing accurate demand forecasts and converting them into actionable demand plans that support production, procurement, and inventory strategies. This hybrid role combines statistical forecasting, business insight, and cross-functional planning, serving as a key contributor to the S&OP/IBP process.

This position ensures alignment between Sales, Operations, Purchasing, and Supply Chain by driving accuracy forecast improvements and supporting decision-making for capacity, inventory, and customer delivery performance

Demand Planning Analyst Principal Responsibilities:

Forecasting and Analytics:

  1. Develop and maintain SKU-level statistical forecasts using tools such as ERP/MRP systems, Excel, Power BI, or Python-based models.
  2. Clean, transform, and analyze historical demand data, adjusting for seasonality, trends, outliers, and product lifecycle.
  3. Evaluate model performance using KPIs (MAPE, bias, RMSE) and proactively improve forecast accuracy.
  4. Maintain forecast segmentation (ABC/XYZ, Pareto, lifecycle, volatility classes).
  5. Support demand scenario modeling for new programs, promotions, NPIs, EOL items, and major customer changes

Demand Planning and S&OP:

  1. Facilitate the monthly Demand Review as part of the S&OP process.
  2. Convert the statistical forecast into a consensus demand plan incorporating sales, marketing, and operations input.
  3. Identify forecast risks/opportunities and communicate impacts to supply planning, purchasing, and leadership.
  4. Highlight capacity constraints and demand shifts requiring cross-functional decisions.
  5. Present forecast changes and KPI metrics to leadership.

Inventory and Supply Chain Support:

  1. Translate demand plans into actionable signals for procurement, production planning, and inventory strategy.
  2. Recommend safety stock adjustments and replenishment strategies based on demand variability.
  3. Monitor inventory health (DOH, turns, excess, obsolescence) and drive corrective actions.
  4. Partner with supply planners and buyers to balance service level, inventory, and cost.
  5. Support root-cause analysis for stockouts, late deliveries, and forecast misses.

Professional Development and Industry Engagement:

  1. Maintains industry knowledge by attending educational workshops or classes; reviewing related publications; establishing networks.
  2. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed, including special projects and tasks as delegated supervisor.
Requirements:

Education Requirements (R/Required, P/Preferred):

Degrees Preferred:

(R) Bachelorโ€™s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Analytics, Engineering, Statistics, or related field.


Training, Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Specific Training in this field (R/Required, P/Preferred):

  1. (R) 2-5 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply planning.
  2. (R) Strong analytical skills with excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables), ERP/MRP systems.
  3. (R) Understanding of statistical forecasting methods (moving average, exponential smoothing, regression, etc).
  4. (R) Ability to communicate complex data to non-technical audiences.
  5. (R) Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, and Purchasing.
  6. (P) Experience with Python, R, or Power BI for advanced forecasting/
  7. (P) APICS CPIM or CSCP certification
  8. (P) Lead Six Sigma Green Belt
  9. (P) Experience with S&OP/BP
  10. (P) Manufacturing background, ideally assemble-to-order or make-to-stock.
