Job Description: AZIONE, an award-winning agency, seeks an experienced candidate to join as an Account Director in our beauty and lifestyle division. The ideal candidate should possess 6-8+ years of post-college / internship experience in PR. Experience with innovative startups is a plus. Candidates must thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Relationships & Growth

  • Lead and oversee all assigned accounts within portfolio, ensuring they are in good standing
  • Proactively contribute to the organic growth of accounts, offering strategic thinking, ideas and opportunities to build relationships of influence
  • Builds excellent client relationships, as the day-to-day client contact and media liaison 
  • Works in collaboration with SVP/VPs to build and deliver client development plans, to solidify and grow AZIONE’s influence with clients, and translate into organic growth
  • Serve as senior client contact and account lead; address client issues thoughtfully and effectively, escalating issues internally as appropriate
  • Lead calls with client and in-person meetings alongside senior team leadership
  • Attends 1:1 media briefings with clients as needed (i.e. interviews, desksides, press previews, event activations and more)  
  • Acts as a source of knowledge to clients, bringing expertise, knowledge and experience to all conversations, initiatives and projects.
  • Oversee and contribute to new business processes including brainstorm calls, research, deck contribution and pitch preparation

Strategic Thinking 

  • Actively pitches across client priorities to consistently secure business, brand, and product features, ad trade stories, executive profiles, podcasts, and trend stories to articulate marketplace differentiation and reach key stakeholders
  • Shepherds the curation of appropriate editorial and brand partnership opportunities while overseeing the influencer + talent programming for client projects 
  • Conceptualizes and executes 360-degree integrated PR campaigns as extension of clients’ in-house marketing teams, inclusive of business + lifestyle media relations, influencer engagement, brand partnerships and experiential activations, meeting OKRS (when applicable)
    • Oversee cadence of media coverage, messaging, and press material development, ensuring all are in line with clients’ overall strategy and brand guidelines
    • Oversee and execute business communications strategies, including fundraise announcements, mergers + acquisitions, executive leadership transitions, and more
    • Draft higher level scopes of work, pitches, press releases, and talking points as needed
  • Oversees the implementation of brand partnerships
  • Review and sign off on all client agendas and action items, ensuring all touchpoints are free of discrepancies and fully updated with latest client deliverables 
  • Oversee and approve weekly and monthly recaps for all team projects

Excellence in Delivery

  • Maintains and continuously grows network of powerful “turnkey” media, brand partners, and influencer relationships
  • Ignite steady rhythm of proactive and inbound editorial, partnership, and event integration opportunities
  • Stays apprised of new technologies and business trends, affiliate platforms, social media trends, and more, assessing brand relevance and strategic use
  • Continuously stays up-to-date on best practices relating to reporting to underscore qualitative and quantitative ROI and impact of executed campaigns 
  • Monitor and keep abreast of industry news and trends, sharing insights and news within the team
  • Anticipate and proactively offer solutions to senior team leadership for issues specific to assigned clients/initiatives
  • Manage and contribute to agency database of editorial relationships

  • Manage growth of PR team members, taking responsibility for goal setting, development opportunities and advocating for progression
  • Mentors, leads and inspires the PR team effectively and responsibly to manage situations to a positive outcome

Requirements:

  • 6-8+ years of post-college / internship experience in PR
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a creative mindset
  • Must be located in Los Angeles
  • Our LA team operates on a hybrid office schedule
