Description
The MAC Football Helper (Video & Laundry Assistant) supports football operations through practice and game filming, laundry services, equipment support, and general game-day assistance. This position plays a key role in providing video footage for coaching and player development while helping maintain team equipment and facilities.
Typical Schedule:
  • Regular Season Practices (Tuesday-Thursday): 4:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
  • Laundry Duties: Approximately 3 hours each Thursday
  • Home Games: Approximately 10:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
  • Away Games: Approximately 5 hours per game
  • Flexible availability required during football camp.

Examples of Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Film assigned football practices and all home and away football games.
  • Set up, operate, and secure video equipment.
  • Ensure video recordings are completed according to coaching staff requirements.
  • Assist with transporting and storing video equipment.
  • Clean and wash practice uniforms on assigned laundry days.
  • Pick up trash and maintain cleanliness of football facilities and game areas.
  • Assist with game-day setup and teardown activities.
  • Drive and properly secure golf carts following approved operating procedures.
  • Attend all home and away football games, with one excused absence permitted.
  • Support football camp operations and related activities as assigned.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform general custodial and facility maintenance duties, including vacuuming, sweeping, cleaning and sanitizing assigned areas, restocking restroom supplies, maintaining interior and exterior surfaces, operating commercial cleaning equipment, and performing work at elevated heights as needed.
  • Assist coaches and staff with football operations as needed.
  • Support special events and athletic department activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

Typical Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:
  • Ability to operate video equipment and follow filming instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow directions and maintain focus during practices and games.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Dependability and commitment to scheduled events.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
  • Must be enrolled as a student at Thaddeus Stevens College.
  • Interest in sports management, media production, athletics, or related fields preferred.
  • Previous video recording experience is helpful but not required.
  • Valid driver's license preferred for golf cart operation, if required by College policy.

Supplemental Information
Work Environment and/or Physical Demands:
  • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying equipment.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • May be required to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours during football camp and game days.
