Description
The Athletics Creative Content Graduate Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the digital content and storytelling efforts of the University of Central Missouri Athletics Department. This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in collegiate athletics creative services while pursuing a graduate degree. The successful candidate will assist in the creation of graphic design, photography, videography, and social media content, while helping to enhance the visibility, engagement, and brand identity of UCM Athletics.
Examples of Duties
Duties Include:
  • Create and produce graphic design, photography, and video content to support athletic teams and departmental initiatives.
  • Assist with the planning, capture, and distribution of content for social media platforms and digital channels.
  • Provide game day content coverage, including photography, videography, and in-game social media coverage.
  • Edit and deliver creative assets that align with University of Central Missouri Athletics branding standards.
  • Collaborate with athletics communications, marketing, and coaching staffs to promote student-athletes, teams, and special events.
  • Assist with the development of promotional materials and sales collateral.
  • Organize and maintain digital media archives and creative assets.
  • Support special projects and other duties as assigned by the athletic department.

Typical Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • Currently admitted to a UCM graduate degree program
  • 3.0 or higher graduate level GPA if previous graduate level courses have been taken
  • 2.7 or higher undergraduate level GPA if no previous graduate level courses have been taken
  • A marketing or digital media related major is preferred

Experience:
  • Prior experience in athletics creative (collegiate or professional level preferred).
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends in accordance with athletic event schedules.
  • Experience with photography and videography.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
  • Knowledge of social media marketing and engagement strategies.

Supplemental Information
GA Type: Athletics
GA Hour Expectations: 20 hours a week
Start Date of Position: 8/10/2026
End Date of Position: 12/11/2026
Total Stipend for Semester: $4,950
Working Days & Hours: 20 hours per week M-F. Nights and weekends as required for UCM Athletic Events.
Scholarship: Students filling a Graduate Assistantship (GA) position are eligible to receive a graduate tuition waiver, a graduate non-resident tuition waiver (if applicable), and a graduate mandatory fees waiver. The scholarships are in the form of a waiver and the funds are not deposited into the student's personal account. Instead, the student's bill is reduced by the amount of the scholarship awarded. If the maximum amount of the scholarship is not used, the remainder is not paid to the student in any form and unused scholarship money cannot be carried over to another semester. The scholarship is applied to graduate level courses only; courses taken for undergraduate credit are not eligible to be covered by the GA scholarship. The non-resident fee scholarship only applies to classes taken on the UCM Warrensburg campus. The maximum scholarship amounts are based on the size of assistantship held. For a full (20-hour per week) assistantship, the scholarship covers tuition costs and mandatory fees up to 12 credit hours of graduate coursework per semester. Graduate assistantship positions less than full will be prorated accordingly.
