POSITION: Assistant Football Coach
Compensation: Stipend
- $1,700.00 (Paid at Completion of Season)

Reports To: Head Varsity Football Coach and Athletic Director
Classification: Extra Duty
JOB SUMMARYThe Assistant Football Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Football Coach in all aspects of the football program. The assistant coach will help develop student-athletes' football skills, teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, leadership, and character while supporting program goals and maintaining compliance with district, league, AIA, and NFHS regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Assist with planning and conducting football practices, conditioning sessions, and competitions
- Teach football fundamentals, techniques, safety procedures, and game strategies
- Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, travel, and team activities
- Support the Head Coach in maintaining team discipline, organization, and communication
- Promote positive sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, and academic accountability
- Assist with equipment management, field setup, uniforms, and inventory
- Support fundraising, team-building activities, and community involvement opportunities
- Utilize online athletic platforms such as HUDL, MaxPreps, and other required systems
- Ensure compliance with district, league, AIA, and NFHS rules and procedures
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Head Coach, Athletic Director, and/or Administration
QUALIFICATIONS- Certificate verifying completion of the NFHS online Fundamentals of Coaching course or approved equivalent (AIA Rule 17.1)
- Certificate verifying completion of the NFHS online Concussion in Sports - What You Need to Know course
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification
- Knowledge of football fundamentals, conditioning, safety procedures, and game strategy
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents, and administration
OTHER REQUIREMENTS- Must be able to pass a fingerprint and background clearance check and obtain an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card through AZDPS
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license
- May be required to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and outside normal working hours
- May be required to travel for competitions and team activities
