Position Summary
ย 
Reporting to Head of North America Private Label Nuts, the Nuts Junior Trader will be primarily responsible for supporting trading and risk management of the Business to Business (B2B) nut portfolio. Essential job functions include B2B procurement, as well as relaying market intel to key stakeholders in ofi. The successful candidate will possess strong relationships and negotiation skills required to earn and keep business. A high level of attention to detail and follow-up to ensure strategy is executed properly will be vital in ensuring success in this role.

Position Responsibilities
ย 
  • Provide front-line leadership in the optimization of supplier relationships within the trading team to ensure year-round availability of products for ofi entities.
  • Responsible for strategy development, product trading and risk management.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and handlers to ensure budgeted procurement volumes are met.
  • Demonstrate superior relationship management by developing and fostering supplierย retention.
  • Act as a key contact for market intelligence and dissemination/coordination with the greater trading team.
  • Expand market presence within the industry by actively participating in industry forums.
  • Proactively interface with other trading support areas of the organization, including Trading Controls, Marketing, Structuring, Contracts and Credit to grow the business.
  • Identify new opportunities for the book of business that will improve overall Business Unit (BU) profitability.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirementsย 
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree is required, preferably in Marketing, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Three (3) years of relevant trading experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Experience with California Ag Industry is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail is required.
  • Must be able to problem solve and handle multiple tasks effectively.
  • Experience with contract negotiation preferred.
  • Understanding of the fundamental supply/demand drivers of the commodity markets is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including verbal and written, are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including but not limited to Excel, Outlook and Word, is required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, effectively managing workload to meet deadlines, while ensuring a high standard of quality is required.
  • Willingness and ability to travel, at times up to 20%.
The pay for this role in the state of CAย ranges fromย $79,000 - $105,000ย and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location. Actual pay within this range may be determined based on candidateโ€™s experience, qualifications and/or other determining factors.
