Position Summary
The Cook Supervisor is a food preparation professional responsible for overseeing kitchen operations and Food Service staff to ensure efficient production and service. This role prepares and supervises the preparation of nutritious, attractive, and flavorful meals while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and customer service.
The Cook Supervisor helps ensure menu items are properly stocked, prepared according to dietary requirements, and served with excellence to residents, employees, and guests.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years of food service supervisory experience
- Knowledge of institutional or healthcare kitchen operations
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Basic math skills
- Ability to safely perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
Preferred Qualifications
- ServSafe Certification
- Graduate of an approved culinary, food preparation, or cooking technical program
- Experience in long-term care, senior living, healthcare, or institutional food service settings

Essential Responsibilities
- Supervise daily kitchen operations and food production activities
- Prepare and portion meals according to menus and resident dietary requirements
- Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation standards are met
- Maintain proper inventory and stock levels for weekly menu production
- Follow all federal, state, and organizational food safety regulations
- Support and uphold Resident Rights and resident-centered care principles
- Maintain sanitary food preparation, storage, and service practices
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment
- Operate food preparation and dishwashing equipment safely
- Participate in department meetings and training programs
- Assist with employee coaching and direction as needed
- Comply with all departmental policies and long-term care regulations
