PURCHASING MANAGER

The manager will partner with vendors and hotel departments to ensure quality products, timely delivery, and uninterrupted operations.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Procure and order all food, beverage, and related operating supplies, ensuring timely fulfillment of departmental needs.

  • Manage inventory and PAR levels to maintain product availability while minimizing waste and controlling costs.

  • Monitor purchasing activity, inventory usage, and supplier performance to achieve food and beverage cost targets.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure quality, service, and competitive pricing.

  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery schedules to maximize value and support operational goals.

  • Coordinate with receiving and operating departments to ensure accurate deliveries and resolve product or service issues.
  • Oversee inventory levels, storage practices, and product rotation to ensure compliance with company standards and food safety requirements.

  • Partner with Food & Beverage, Culinary, Finance, and other departments on purchasing and inventory needs.

  • Maintain purchasing records, vendor files, inventory reports, and cost analyses to support business decisions.

  • Resolve purchasing and operational issues promptly to minimize disruptions and support internal customer satisfaction.

  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in hospitality, business, supply chain, or related field preferred.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of management experience in food and beverage purchasing, inventory control, storeroom operations, or a related hospitality environment.

  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, team members, and leaders across all levels of the organization.

  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to prepare, interpret, and analyze purchasing, inventory, and cost-control reports.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Experience using BirchStreet procurement software preferred.

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
