Job description

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for all facets of Product Procurement, the management of Divisional inventory assets, Maximizing Divisional Logistics income, and maintaining the staffing required fulfilling these responsibilities.

Essential Duties:

  • Meet established goals for Order Fill measured by daily lost sales.
  • Meet established Inventory level requirements measured by average monthly inventory as a percent to cost of goods sold.
  • Meet or exceed established income budgets as measure by Monthly “Final Daily Financial”.
  • Support Corporate RFP process by attending and participating in all scheduled RFP’s.
  • Manage SKU count measured by total SKU’s, Aged Inventory, and slow-moving items.
  • Manage cost of goods through vendor management, opportunity buys, commodity purchases, and cost of freight.
  • Establish and track the performance of each associate in Purchasing and Logistics.
  • Responsible for recruiting, training, recognition, and discipline for department, measured by turnover ratio and tenure.
  • Support Produce initiatives for Markon income and package count measured by Monthly P&L.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree; or 10 to 15 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive experience with purchasing management systems, inventory control processes, implementation and management.
  • Broadline Purchasing experience
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry concepts as well as calculate figure and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages
  • Experience with contract negotiation
  • Strong team approach to management and ability to manage multiple projects to deadlines
  • Strong commitment and established track record of processes documentation and improvement

Pay for the role is weighted on several factors and base salary is expected to start $115-135K with annual bonus potential.
