Job description

Quality Assurance Supervisor

Location: San Antonio, TX
Employment Type: Full-Time
Shift: 3:00 PM – 12:00 AM
**Food manufacturing experience is a must have **


Position Summary

The Quality Assurance (QA) Supervisor ensures that production and distribution meet the highest food quality and safety standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The QA Supervisor oversees quality control programs, verifies regulatory compliance, and assists in audits. This role works closely with production and quality teams to maintain premium standards for fully-cooked food products.


Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to food quality and food safety

  • Assist with internal, customer, and regulatory audits (USDA, FDA, Health Department, Military Veterinary Command, third‑party certifications)

  • Oversee prerequisite programs including:

    • Maintenance

    • Supplier approval

    • Pest control

    • Sanitation

    • Environmental and product testing

    • Allergen management

  • Perform daily Quality Control (QC) tasks based on established procedures

  • Monitor food processing operations to ensure regulatory and company compliance

  • Maintain QA programs in compliance with SQF food safety and quality codes

  • Investigate customer complaints and internal non‑conformities, conduct root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and verify effectiveness

  • Identify opportunities for program improvement and implement necessary changes while coordinating with QA and Production Management


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field

  • Minimum 3 years managing quality and food safety operations in a USDA food‑manufacturing facility

  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills


Preferred Qualifications
  • SQF Practitioner Certificate

  • Experience with premium food manufacturing

  • Strong knowledge of regulatory standards and auditing processes
