Overview

The Job in a Nutshell:

The Maintenance Manager (working) is responsible for developing and performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production, facility, and warehouse equipment according to safety, preventive, predictive, and productive maintenance systems. This role supports the achievement of the site’s business goals through a "whatever it takes" approach.

This is a hands-on leadership role; you will maintain tools and machines while overseeing the continuous improvement of maintenance processes and executing long-term strategic plans. The ideal candidate possesses a high level of initiative and is willing to roll up their sleeves to tackle any task necessary, including essential facility repairs —to ensure the site operates at peak efficiency. The Maintenance Manager resolves problems as they arise, whether directly or by delegating them.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  1. Coordinate maintenance efforts to ensure timely repair of food packaging and warehouse equipment and machinery
  2. Manage the maintenance team through coaching, training on building and equipment, and delegation of work
  3. Adhere to all Company policies, procedures, and OSHA rules while carrying out maintenance functions
  4. Identify critical spare parts and build inventory
  5. Identify improvement opportunities and build and execute improvement plan; may lead improvement events
  6. Carry out inspections of production rooms and equipment to identify issues
  7. Develop preventative maintenance schedules and ensure implementation by maintenance personnel
  8. Perform troubleshooting to solve repair issues
  9. Communicate plans for upper-level improvements to maintenance personnel
  10. Manage contractor selection and scheduling.
  11. Maintain repair logs and reports on daily activities, PM’s and overall equipment performance…OEE
  12. Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance; build maintenance related annual capital project list

Recipe for Success:

 

  1. High school diploma/GED
  2. Minimum of 10 years maintenance experience in production/packaging operations
  3. Minimum of 3 years management experience preferred
  4. Proven history of process and procedural improvements
  5. Experience with developing and managing maintenance procedures preferred
  6. Strong knowledge of PLC systems, engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
  7. Experience in a food manufacturing environment with an understanding of GMP’s, HACCP and Food Safety preferred
  8. Ability to understand and work on DC voltage required
  9. Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance issues required
  10. Possesses basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical and fabrication knowledge
  11. Ability to provide installation and repair techniques for piping systems (water, air)
  12. Possess industrial safety, machine safety and safeguarding techniques
  13. Ability to work with minimal supervision and take the initiative to get assigned work done efficiently and effectively
  14. Ability to prioritize tasks and communicate with management on progress
  15. Strong attention to details and getting the work done right the first time
  16. Ability to work with a diverse group and provide leadership in the maintenance area
  17. Must have valid CO driver’s license
