Job description

At Pilgrim’s, Safety Is A Condition, which means the safety of our team members comes first - always.

Pay is based on skills testing.

2nd and 3rd Shifts 
12 hour rotating shifts 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Construct, maintain and test mechanical equipment, machinery and components.

     
  • Identify parts or machines needing new or replacement parts.

     
  • Utilize shop mathematics to complete assignments.

     
  • Interpret drawings of equipment in order to properly adjust, maintain or repair machinery.

     
  • Respond to requests by production area when mechanical issues with equipment have been identified.

     
  • Communicate with production management and personnel to diagnose problems and to determine potential mechanical problems.

     
  • Perform preventive maintenance.

     
  • Complete assigned tasks with accuracy and efficiency, in regard to time as well as resources.

     
  • Order maintenance related supplies and receive into inventory.

     
  • Create requisitions and log into SAP for PO issue.

     
  • Implement and train mechanics on new SAP S4 program.

     
  • Establish and maintain S4 program.

     
  • Maintain inventory of parts room.

     
  • Schedule PM’s and track maintenance activities and cost verifying completion.

     
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.  Technical school preferred. 
  
BASIC SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Minimum 1-2 years of industrial maintenance experience.

     
  • Knowledge of industrial manufacturing equipment.

     
  • General mathematic ability required to perform job.

     
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings.

     
  • Basic knowledge of standard and metric measures.

     
  • Must be able to work assigned days/shifts (including some weekends).

     
  • Complete computer-based skills test with a score of 80 or greater which will determine level.

     
MUST BE ABLE TO PERFORM, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING, ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS WITH OR WITHOUT ACCOMMODATIONS: 
  • Repetitive motion includes back, shoulder, arm, wrist, hand, and finger movement.

     
  • Employee must be able to lift at least 70 lbs. from floor level to heights not less than full extension of the arm and forearm above the head not less than 30 times in a three-hour period.  

     
  • Must be able to walk distances exceeding 100 feet one way not less than 30 times in a three-hour period, and covering an area that exceeds 5 acres.  

     
  • Must be able to ascend and descend staircases with at least 30 stair treads not less than 30 times in a three-hour period.  

     
  • Must be able to work in confined or restricted work areas not less than 3 hours in duration.

     
  • Must be able to work in wet working conditions with temperature ranges below 0 to above 95 degrees Fahrenheit for not less than ten hours at a time.

     
  • Extensive knowledge of SAP program.

     
  • Extensive knowledge of 6S program and inventory management.
