QA/Food Quality & Labeling Specialist

We are looking for aย QA/Food Quality and Labeling Specialist forย JBSย who focuses on the technical services side of the business, specifically assisting in the management of the labeling programs, specifications, new product requests, and approvals for our products. This person will be responsible for completing new product requests (NPRs), creating the associated product codes and specifications, guiding the businessย inย creating new approvals, etc.ย ย This includes working with multiple departmental leaders and associates, corporate business analysis team members and business leadership to provide information and reports to enhance decision making and improve processes.ย

Responsibilities:
- Process NPRs for existing and new product codes.
- Perform various data entriesย for daily, weekly, period, quarter, andย year-to-dateย reports.
- Assist in completing customer requests for documents.
- Audit existing label approvals for products toย ensure all regulatory requirements have been met.
- Learnย various systems and how they interact with plant systems.
- Set up product label and weight label for boxedย product.
- Learn various brands/programs and claims associated with each program.
- Analyzeย data and prepareย written reports of findings as needed.
- Analyze external suppliers documents.
- Assist with the EV list maintenance.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:ย
- Bachelorโs degree required; Agriculture,ย Animalย Science,ย Food Science,ย Meat Science, Ag Economics, or related field preferred.
- 2ย years in aย QAย role or relatedย experienceย preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and acute attention to detail.
- Able to work well in a team environment.
- Intermediateย skillsย in Excelย and Wordย required.
- Self-motivated,ย ability to multitask.
- Experience with the Meatย industryย is preferred.
- Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
- As a salaried position with the company,ย you may be required toย travel at some pointย to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations. The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the followingย compensation and benefits:
- Benefits:ย Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
- Paidย Time Off:ย sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
- 401(k):ย companyย matchย beginsย after the first year of service and followsย the companyย vesting schedule;ย
- Base salaryย range ofย $60,000-$70,000;
- Incentive Pay:ย This position is eligible to participate in the Companyโs annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program;ย andย
